“When I turned the key I was shocked. I didn’t even have a chance to tour the house before today and it's just beautiful. I am so happy for my family, that I won today,” said Robyn. It is not yet decided if Robyn and her husband Steve will take the 2019 Dream House and its furnishings (estimated value more than $500,000) or choose the $275,000 cash prize.
John McCurdy of Classic Chevrolet of Mentor, who assisted participants in the drawing for the 2019 Chevy Camaro said, “We’re happy to contribute for a ninth year in a row by donating a car to the drawing. We hope this special car helped generate more excitement for the Dream House and thereby generate more revenue for the Y to have great programs and do the wonderful things that they do for everyone in our community.” The 2019 Chevy Camaro is valued at over $30,000.
“The Y reinvests every dollar raised from the Dream House back into the community by enhancing our programs and facilities which allows us to accomplish our mission. It is not yet determined how proceeds from the 2019 Dream House will be used, but each of the Lake County Y branches are beginning to determine what enhancements they can make to best meet the needs of their members,” added Dick Bennett.
For more than 25 years, Lake County YMCA Dream House has not only given a winning family the opportunity of a lifetime, but also provided more than $5 million (approximately $200,000 per year) to the Y to help strengthen our community by bringing about meaningful change through resources that enrich lives for all those that live in Lake County. Annual proceeds from the project enhance the Y with facility and equipment improvements for the more than 50,000 members and program participants at each of its branches.
